This church holds a lot of memories for me. I attended with my mother, Eloise Shawver and my sister Judith Ann Shawver. Rev. Glenn White performed my wedding there in 1970 and we were all such close friends. I miss him dearly. The church looks so different now compared to 1962 when my family first started to attend.

Dear Pastor Glenn White

My name is Garth, I got your email from your church site, and I feel God gave me an idea to present to you to bring this nation back to him. I think that if churches in every community; have Christians come, one or two nights a week for a year, and have a prayer service the rest of this year to be a witness unto the people that are not Christians, and invite them to church, where each Christian comes up front of the congregation, and pray for this nation, and everything else to bring this nation back to God. Also to pray in groups, but invite everyone from the whole community, because I feel God is calling Christians to pray, come back to him, and stand up for Jesus. Now is the time since we are in the end times.
Also pastors and churches need to preach about sin, Holy Spirit, the cross of Christ Jesus, and not just preaching what people want to hear. I feel God using me to send this message to as many churches in the United States, because God is trying to get our attention.
God is a Holy God, and is always there for us. Our nation right now is just like the Israelites when they fell away from God.

I leave you with one verse that needs to be address by every person in this nation to come back to God.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I believe that God is also allowing the economic collapse of this nation to get peoples attention, but God is also using it to get people to help one another, and love one another; as God commanded us. If we as a nation do not heed to God’s word now, God will allow it to get worse; even God is allowing natural disasters to get our attention, but people are not listening to what God is saying. I feel God wants the church to help the poor, needy, homeless, and hungry people that really need help, but the churches are directing people to different resources in the community to help people. God says a lot for churches and people that don’t help the poor, hungry, and homeless in his word, in which God won’t provide for those who turn the poor away; like in says in Matthew 25:42-45 42. For I was hungered; and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43. I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45. Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

The church is getting away from its responsibility in helping the people that need help. When you help the people in need, God will reward and bless you in every way. Too many churches are conforming to the world in what they preach, because they want to make people happy, but not preach what people need to hear. The church needs to also preach about hell, and too many churches are afraid to preach this subject, but only teach what people want to hear, and not what God says. Even when someone calls a church, and even if they don’t have enough funds, I think the people working in the church should offer out of their pocket to help someone, and even ordinary people; even if the church doesn’t have the funds, but they don’t, and pass people onto another place, just so they don’t have to bother with those people; like it says in the Bible to give when it is in thine power to do so. Churches should not just help their own members, but God commanded that we help everyone. We are all one body of Christ Jesus. Think about this, what if Jesus called your church, and had needs, would you turn him away? When a person needs help, and you turn them away, God won’t provide in your time of need. People that have it made now don’t think they will ever be in that position, but God may allow this to happen, just to show that they should have helped when someone came to them for help. God commanded us to help those in need, but too many people have become selfish. Remember, the measure which you give will be given back to you with God’s blessings. This is the reason God has taken his hand off a lot of churches, and one is because they stopped helping the poor.
This is why I feel God wants me to speak to as many churches in the United States through this letter to get the attention in showing God’s love, and doing what God says, and commands in his word, because one day soon we will have to all give an account of what we have done for him; whether good or bad, and I don’t think anyone wants to be ashamed, and also grieve the Holy Spirit of God in turning down the people in need.

Matthew 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12. But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

Also, churches need to send people to minister to people again to neighborhoods and places; giving them the gospel, and showing God’s love, just like when Jesus went all over, and ministered to people, and sent out his disciples to preach the gospel.

1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Thank you for your time, and I look foreword to hearing from you soon.

Garth

I just found out about this Website today. Callie Bryant was my Grandmother & I use to spend a lot of time with her in the Summers...therefore I spent my Summer Sunday mornings at Central United Babtist Church & loved every minute of it. It's nice to see her picture on here & how she is still in the hearts & memories of the people of the church that she so dearly loved. Thank you, from the grateful granddaughter of a true Angel that once walked this earth & we all had the pleasure of knowing.

Sincerely,
Mary Healy-Mock
